The inchworm is my first use of Chris Colefax's 3D spline macros. Initially I used spheres and cylinders to create the body but later on substituted theis scheme for the tentacle macro. Because of the need to keep the inchworm's body the same length while the spline changed I used the bisection method in the inchworm; this was later abstracted into the bisection macro. Later still the use of bisection to keep the body the same length was replaced by the curves macros.
Mecha Inchworm demonstrates the use of tension in the spline. By increasing the tension the spline segments become straight and the curves replaced by angles.
